Picnic and Party at Riverside
15 & 16 August 2009
Riverside Gardens, Ilkley

Imelda May

Make a note in your diary for Ilkley’s big weekend of picnicking and partying. It all takes place under a big top at Ilkley’s Riverside Gardens. Featuring on Saturday 15th August IMELDA MAY. Imelda May is the latest sassy sexy seductive burlesque-inspired addition to the blues jazz-a-billy diva gene pool with an infectiously unique fusion of rockabilly, blues, and jazz . So far, Imelda has appeared on ‘Later’ with Jools Holland and shared a stage with Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, Anastacia, Scissor Sisters, Elvis Costello and Elton (phew!). Raw talent and timeless glamour, rock chick hair and holding an audience by the short and curlies is all in a night's work. Johnny Got A Boom Boom? You ain't kidding, sister. Other bands throughout the day include Juke Box Jive and Boogie up a storm.
