Four flags for Bradford Parks

Four of Bradford's parks have been named as among the best in the country.
They have been awarded a Green Flag award by the Civic Trust.
Bradford's Lister Park, last year named as Britain's Best Park, and Haworth's Central park have both retained their Green Flag status but this year Peel Park and St Ives Estate in Bingley have both been awarded a Green Flag.
The parks have been judged on a management plan that was submitted and a site visit to each park or green space was made.
Bradford Council's Parks and Landscape Service worked with a number of 'friends of' groups on the management plans which proved to go towards the success of the bids.
Councilor Anne Hawkesworth, Bradford Council's Executive Member for Environment and Culture, said:
"This again is more recognition that the parks in the Bradford district are among the best in the country. To retain two Green Flag awards and receive two new awards is testament to the hard work of the Council's staff who look after our wonderful parks and green spaces.
"Green spaces are incredibly important for people to be able to go and enjoy and we are so proud to have some fantastic areas for people to relax, exercise and play."
Race for Life
