Parks
The Bradford District has thirty six public parks, totalling an area of over two hundred and seventy hectares. Ten of the parks are on the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England.
Lister Park has undergone extensive refurbishment and was recently voted 'Britain's Best Park 2006' in a national competition. The park has also been awarded a Civic Trust, Green Flag award for a fifth year running, placing it among the top parks in the country.
Central Park Haworth, Peel Park and St. Ives Estate are also winners of the Prestigious Green Flag Award.
Many of the parks have active 'Friends' groups, which work with the Parks and Landscape Service to care for, protect and improve their local parks.
